Individualized treatment planning is based on the idea that "one size does not fit all" when it comes to treatment. Your treatment plan must be tailored to your needs. You will participate in the process of making your treatment plan. Unlike person-centered planning, which may involve your family and friends, you and your counselor together will plan your treatment for your substance use disorder. Your situation, your needs, goals and desires will be taken into account when deciding your level of care, length of treatment, aftercare and planning for your discharge.
Every person who receives public services for mental health and substance use disorders has certain rights.
The Michigan Mental Health Code protects certain rights, including:
• The right to be free from abuse and neglect.
• The right to confidentiality.
• The right to be treated with dignity and respect.
• The right to receive treatment suited to your condition.
If you receive services for substance use disorders, you have rights that are protected by the Michigan Public Health Code. We will explain these rights to you when you start services and then once again every year. You can find more information about your rights while getting services for substance use disorders in the pamphlet called "Know Your Rights."
The substance use disorder treatment services listed below are covered by Medicaid. These services are available through the Thumb Alliance PIHP, which has been designated by the State of Michigan as the Substance Abuse Services Coordinating Agency for Lapeer, St. Clair and Sanilac Counties.
AAR determines the need for substance abuse services and will assist in getting to the right services and providers.
Outpatient Treatment includes counseling for the individual, and family and group therapy in an office setting.

Residential Treatment is intensive therapeutic services which include overnight stays in a staffed licensed facility.
Prevention service include efforts:
• To make communities better able to reduce the number of people with substance use disorders;
• To make communities better able to provide services for substance use disorders;
• To educate the community about substance use disorders;
• And to identify people who may be likely to develop a substance use disorder and refer them to a program for education, such as assistance programs for students or employees and education programs for those caught driving under the influence.
Specialty Women's Services refer to substance use disorder treatment programs for women who are pregnant or women with children. The programs include primary medical treatment, child care, primary pediatric care, and other therapeutic interventions for mother and child, such as issues of relationships, sexual and physical abuse, parenting and developmental issues.
